Ebrahim Sidat, CEO
Ebrahim began his professional career reading Law with Accountancy at The University of Manchester. He then qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor within the specialist tax department for KPMG.
Ebrahim was appointed CEO of Signature Tax in 2012 where he was responsible for setting up and growing the firm with a global presence. Ebrahim also sits on the boards of many well established British businesses. Ebrahim also runs his own Academy, focused on taking talented youngsters from disadvantaged communities with limited opportunity and mentoring them into successful careers.
Esmail Jassat, Associate Director
Esmail is based at Signature Tax’s London office. With a decade of banking experience with Nationwide Building Society and Al Rayan Bank (formerly known as the Islamic Bank of Britain), Esmail held various managerial roles to help develop client’s business interests. Esmail is primarily responsible for managing the business development team at Signature Tax as well as managing relationships with entrepreneur’s, HNWI’s, SME’s and various accounting firms across London and the South East.
Outside of work, Esmail is a trustee of a few local educational and charitable institutions and likes to get involved within the local community.
Steve Deighan, Associate Director
Steve has enjoyed an illustrious career in Corporate Banking and has worked for several UK and US based Banks including RBS, Specialised Lending Services and Citibank as Senior Vice President within their European Asset Finance team. Steve heads up our Research & Development team at Signature Tax and has a high level of expertise in working within the SME market place as he looks to maximise R&D claims based on his understanding of many sectors coupled with his desire and enthusiasm to understand you and your business. He has a 100% success rate in client submissions.
Outside of the workplace, Steve is a Level 2 football coach, a qualified football referee and a swimming judge. He is a Season Ticket holder at Manchester United and thoroughly enjoys supporting his Son at National and International swimming competitions.
Bilal Patel, Associate Director
Bilal has over 5 years experience in the UK’s R&D Tax Relief claims working with FTSE 500 companies and also specialising in working with UK start-up companies to help develop tax strategy and technology commercialisation.
Bilal has developed an in-depth understanding of the guidance and legislation in the definition of R&D for tax purposes. With his experience in the industry preparing claims, Bilal has the skills to develop, prepare and deliver robust claims across a wide range of sectors including construction, pharmaceutical, FinTech, automotive and aerospace.
Sobayha Valli, Senior Tax Manager
Sobayha is a chartered tax advisor and qualified chartered accountant. Having began her career at PwC within audit and corporate finance, she carries a breadth of commercial experience that she has brought with her into the world of tax. Although Sobayha advises on a range of tax advisory matters at Signature Tax, her specialism lies in estate and succession planning.
Outside of the professional world, Sobayha enjoys getting involved in charitable projects and spending time with friends and family, usually over coffee!
Yusuf Akudi, Tax Manager
Having come out of university with a First class Masters in Civil and Structural Engineering (MEng), Yusuf began his career with a small accountancy firm preparing financial statements for owner-managed businesses. After a year, he moved onto PwC where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant, with a specialism in financial services (general insurance) audit. After 4 years he decided to move internally into Corporate Tax. He focused on a variety of large corporate clients and local government authorities providing both compliance and advisory services.
His current role at Signature Tax focuses on company restructuring advisory. Along with his breadth of experience, he is familiar with managing stakeholder objectives and understanding the long-term growth plans of business owners.
Chris Chaudhry, Business Development Manager
Chris is based at Signature Tax’s London office. With over a decade of banking experience with Barclays, Chris has held various managerial roles to help develop client’s business interests. Chris is a part of the business development team at Signature Tax as well as managing relationships with entrepreneur’s, HNWI’s, SME’s and various accounting firms across London and the South East. Chris regularly advises clients and their accountants on tailored tax efficient solutions.
Outside of work, Chris is an avid Brentford FC fan, loves boxing, traveling, cycling and likes to get involved within the local community doing charity work.
Huzefah Novsarka, Business Development Manager
Huzefah is based at Signature Tax’s office in Leicester, covering the west midlands area. With a decade of banking experience at Al Rayan Bank, Huzefah primarily dealt with management of the branch in Leicester as well as property financing for his clients. At Signature Tax, Huzefah manages relationships with entrepreneurs, HNWI’s, SME’s and various accounting firms across the midlands and northern England.
Outside of work, Huzefah likes to spend his time playing cricket along with involving himself in local community projects.
Jordan Barton, Research & Development Tax Consultant
Jordan has a strong background in Finance with the Royal Bank of Scotland dealing with SME’s financial growth. Working on events for Signature Tax, Jordan likes to go to all major technology events talking to customers about the benefits of R&D Tax credits.
Jordan moved to Manchester to be closer to his little girl and is a sports enthusiast.
Jonathan Alford-Leach, Research & Development Tax Consultant
Jonathan has worked in an advisory role across many industries and has now focused on offering advice for companies that are developing innovative products and process’. He has a particular interests in emerging pharmaceuticals, sciences and aerospace projects.
Outside of work, Jonathan can often be found playing football or going to the gym and is a keen supporter of Manchester United.
Zayn Abubaker, Assistant
From an early age, Zayn developed a passion for business after growing up watching his father run a successful family business. Over time, as he became further acquainted with the various functions, he found that accounting piqued his interest the most and he decided to specialise in this field. Zayn graduated in 2018 with an upper second class degree in Accounting & Finance and secured himself an exciting role at Signature Tax, working closely with his director.
Outside of the office, Zayn enjoys spending time with his friends & family and regularly exercises to maintain a healthy and positive lifestyle.
