Ebrahim Sidat, Ceo

Ebrahim began his professional career reading Law with Accountancy at The University of Manchester and then qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor within the specialist tax department for KPMG. Ebrahim was appointed CEO of Signature Tax in 2012 where he was responsible for setting up and growing the firm with a national presence. Signature Tax now has three offices across the UK in Manchester, London and Birmingham.

Ebrahim continues to refine and broaden his skill set by studying courses at Harvard Business School and has won several awards in recent years. Ebrahim also sits on the boards of many well established British businesses. Ebrahim and his family have a passion for education and run educational projects in the UK and around the world through their own charity. Ebrahim also runs his own Academy, focused on taking talented youngsters from disadvantaged communities with limited opportunity and mentoring them into successful careers.

Most recently, Ebrahim founded a premier business networking initiative called AU Nexus, a non-profit organisation focused on cascading the wealth of experience from the leaders within the British Asian community over to the new young breed of Asian entrepreneurs.

Esmail Jasat, Associate Director

Esmail is based at Signature Tax’s London office in the West End.  With a decade of banking experience with Nationwide Building Society and Al Rayan Bank (formerly known as the Islamic Bank of Britain), Esmail held various managerial roles to help develop client's business interests; in particular he managed all the branches in the London area, as well as managing community banking nationwide. Previous to joining Signature Tax, Esmail worked in the commercial lending department based in central London.

Esmail is primarily responsible for managing the business development team at Signature Tax as well as managing relationships with entrepreneur’s, HNWI’s, SME’s and various accounting firms across London and the South East. Esmail regularly advises clients and their accountants on tailored tax efficient solutions.

Outside of work, Esmail is a trustee of a few local educational and charitable institutions and likes to get involved within the local community.


Sobayha VALLI, tax Manager

Sobayha began her career with PwC where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant, with a specialism in mergers and acquisitions. Prior to that she was also involved in the audit side of retail banking and investment management firms.  She has also worked as a strategy manager for a large direct mail order business.

Her breadth of experience means she is familiar with managing stakeholder objectives and understanding the long-term growth and succession planning requirements of business owners.

Sobayha is currently studying the final papers for her Chartered Tax Adviser qualification.



Adam started his career studying IT, Business, Mathematics and Economics.

Subsequently he took over his family business Komptech selling computers and electronic equipment. Moving on Adam later became head of contract and procurement, responsible for managing the delivery of the numerous private and public sector contracts in the IT support and infrastructure sectors. In 2010, he then set up an online property management company, Dream Travel.

To date, Adam has been working within Operations at Signature Tax, he has been instrumental in developing the IT strategy and implementing bespoke software packages to improve efficiency with the strategic objective of also adding the same value to the dynamic client base within the firm. 

Adam is a car enthusiast and keen footballer.



Allen began his career in accountancy at the age of 11!

After working summer and winter holidays in a city centre accountancy practice through high school and university, he joined them full time on graduation and worked for a further 4 years until the firm was purchased by Hallidays, the oldest independent firm of accountants in Manchester.

Allen qualified as a chartered certified accountant with Hallidays in 2001 and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

With over 30 years’ experience in accountancy working for a number of established firms and with a wide variety of clients Allen has the technical knowledge and skills to maximise clients’ R&D claims.

Outside of work Allen is involved in the local community and he and his family are keen walkers.


Steve Deighan, Associate Director

Steve has enjoyed an illustrious career in Corporate Banking and has worked for several UK and US based Banks including RBS, Specialised Lending Services and Citibank as Senior Vice President within their European Asset Finance team.  

Steve heads up our Research & Development team at Signature Tax and has a high level of expertise in working within the SME market place as he looks to maximise R&D claims based on his understanding of many sectors coupled with his desire and enthusiasm to understand you and your business.  He has a 100% success rate in client submissions.

Outside of the workplace, Steve is a Level 2 football coach, a qualified football referee and a swimming judge.  He is a Season Ticket holder at Manchester United and thoroughly enjoys supporting his Son at National and International swimming competitions.



Having come out of university with a First class Masters in Civil and Structural Engineering (MEng), Yusuf began his career with a small accountancy firm preparing financial statements for owner-managed businesses. After a year, he moved onto PwC where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant, with a specialism in financial services (general insurance) audit. After 4 years he decided to move internally into Corporate Tax. He focused on a variety of large corporate clients and local government authorities providing both compliance and advisory services.

His current role at Signature Tax focuses on company restructuring advisory. Along with his breadth of experience, he is familiar with managing stakeholder objectives and understanding the long-term growth plans of business owners.

andrew roberts, Sales mANAGER

Andrew is based at our head office in the heart of Manchester - Piccadilly Gardens. With over a decade of marketing and sales experience, Andrew has become a valued member of the team. Since his early days, Andrew has always had an eye for innovation, fascinated by Technology and therefore resulting in recovering large amounts of money for his clients.

 In his spare time, Andrew enjoys having a round of Golf and is a member of The Marriott Golf Club in Worsley.


abdur-rauf ali, Research & Development Consultant

Abdur received his Master’s in Chemical Engineering with Energy and Environment from University of Manchester and has since worked in R&D taxation. He specialises in the foods and beverages industries, and has worked on technical projects on brewery wastewater treatment and industrial bread processing methodologies.

His breadth of experience and technical knowledge within process engineering means that he can work closely with Engineers and Financial Controllers, and has helped his clients to recover thousands of pounds in tax relief.

Outside of work Abdur is a keen baker and a watch enthusiast, and is a trained horologist.

Joseph is a valued member of the Technical Team. He specialises in work on Software, Hardware, and IT cases backed up by his extensive experience in the Renewable Energy, Construction, Legal, and Food industries.

He is a technology fanatic, gamer, former esports player, and consultative esports coach.



Kate is an extremely valued member of our Business Development Team focussed on identifying and creating lasting client relationships with SME’s UK wide. She brings a wealth of client facing experience across a multitude of sectors and enjoys meeting intermediaries as part of her overall objectives.

Kate enthuses about innovation, creative industries and the fact she plays a small part in the overall growth of the UK economy. In her spare time Kate enjoys walks in the great outdoors with her springer spaniel, hot yoga and sharing good food and wine with friends and family.
